I can be planted enjoyed year after year. I am a bulb plant in 6" grower pot - color requests will depend on availability (Red, White)
Deluxe version comes in a decorative pot, with evergreen stems, baubles, pine cones and a ribbon - all dressed for the holidays. Request 1-2 ornament colours: red, blues, greens, burgandy, hot pink, silver, gold, white, champagne, or natural elements
CARE:
Light
Place the pot in a bright, cool location, but avoid direct sunlight. Once the stem appears, ensure it gets plenty of bright light.
Water
Water sparingly until you see about 2 inches of new growth. Once the plant is actively growing, water regularly. Water when the top two inches of soil becomes dry.
Fertilizer
Use a houseplant fertilizer with a high phosphorus content to promote blooming. You can also feed it with a half-strength, water-soluble fertilizer every two to three weeks. Stop feeding in August.
Rotation
Turn the pot every other day or so to keep the stems from growing at an angle.
After blooming
Once the amaryllis has flowered and faded, cut off the yellowed flowers, leaves, and stems. Place the pot in a cool, dark place with consistent temperatures around 55°F to 60°F for eight to 10 weeks.
Toxicity
Amaryllis is toxic to cats and dogs.
